k360
journey

2006

Kensington Consulting was born.
Trading from our very first office, Kensington House, Phil and Lisa set out with a clear focus: delivering high-quality recruitment across a broad range of engineering roles. It was a small team with big ambition, and a name rooted in where it all started.

2008

REC Accreditation.
While the credit crunch reshaped the business landscape and nearly 20% of companies entered administration, we kept moving forward. Rather than retreat, we adapted, strengthened our foundations, and pursued our first REC accreditation. This period shaped the resilience and professionalism that still defines us today.

2010

Industry recognition.
Our people-first approach was formally recognised when we won Recruit Bank Awards for Best Candidate Communication, Best Recruiter Overall, and Best Understanding of Candidate Needs. These awards reflected what mattered most to us then and still does now.

2013

Sharpening our edge.
We launched innovation sprint programmes focused on growth, development, and clarity. This was a pivotal period where we learned the value of specialism and the importance of becoming truly niche in our markets.

2014

A year of momentum.
Continued growth saw us move into Rutherford Point, giving us space to scale. We also welcomed our longest-serving employee, a milestone that speaks to the culture we were building. That same year, we made a decisive pivot into additive manufacturing, positioning ourselves ahead of a rapidly evolving industry.

2016

Making room to grow.
With the team expanding, we invested in office expansion to support the next phase of growth and collaboration.

2017

Stepping onto the industry stage.
We attended our first major industry event, TCT Birmingham, marking the start of a stronger presence within the additive manufacturing community.

2020

Adapting to Industry 4.0.
As the market shifted, we evolved with it. We expanded into complementary recruitment markets aligned with additive manufacturing and the wider Industry 4.0 landscape, ensuring we stayed relevant in a rapidly changing world.

2022

A landmark year.
We joined the Help to Grow programme, strengthening our strategic foundations. Anne joined us as a board advisor, bringing valuable insight and leadership. This year also marked our strongest financial performance to date.

2025

A brand that reflects who we are.
We rebranded to better represent the industries we serve today and the expertise we have built over two decades. Modern, focused, and future-ready.

2026

20 years of Kensington.
Two decades in, we are proud of where we have come from and excited about what lies ahead. From a two-person operation to a specialist consultancy embedded in advanced manufacturing and innovation-led industries, our journey is still very much in motion.
