Medical Device Sales Representative

Location: Field-Based (Travel Required)

About the Opportunity

Our client is a specialist manufacturing partner to the medical device industry, supporting OEMs from early-stage concept through to full-scale production. Their core capabilities include laser processing, rotary and flatbed die cutting, converting, CNC-enabled manufacturing, and precision assembly.

They are seeking a Medical Device Sales Representative with direct experience in die cutting, converting, or closely related manufacturing technologies to drive new business and grow key accounts.

The Role

This is a highly technical, consultative sales position focused on selling complex manufacturing solutions into medical device OEMs.

You will act as the commercial lead on opportunities, working closely with engineering and operations teams to support projects from concept and design through to production and long-term account growth.

Target applications include:

  • Wearable medical devices
  • Disposable diagnostics
  • Microfluidics
  • Advanced wound care

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Account Growth

  • Identify and win new business opportunities within medical device manufacturing
  • Develop and expand key OEM accounts
  • Build relationships across engineering, quality, sourcing, and operations teams
  • Generate opportunities through proactive outreach and client meetings
  • Maintain accurate CRM pipelines and forecasts

Technical & Consultative Selling

  • Engage customers on application requirements and manufacturing solutions
  • Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and sample parts
  • Present capabilities across die cutting, converting, laser processing, and precision assembly
  • Collaborate internally to assess feasibility and manufacturability
  • Support design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and early-stage development
  • Lead technical discussions, plant tours, and capability demonstrations

Commercial Execution

  • Lead RFQ/RFP processes and develop accurate quotations
  • Build pricing aligned with margin targets
  • Drive opportunities through to close
  • Support NDAs and customer-specific agreements

Project & Customer Management

  • Work cross-functionally to support successful program launches
  • Act as the voice of the customer internally
  • Manage ongoing communication around timelines, changes, and delivery

Essential Requirements

  • Proven sales experience within die cutting, converting, or closely related manufacturing technologies (ESSENTIAL)
  • Experience selling technically complex manufacturing solutions
  • Background in one or more of the following:
    • Rotary or flatbed die cutting
    • Converting
    • Laser processing
    • CNC machining
    • Precision component manufacturing
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and organisational skills
  • Experience using CRM systems
  • Willingness to travel (25–50%)

Highly Desirable

  • Experience selling into medical device OEMs
  • Knowledge of pressure-sensitive adhesives, films, foams, and multi-layer constructions
  • Exposure to ISO 13485 / FDA-regulated environments
  • Experience supporting applications such as wearables, diagnostics, microfluidics, or wound care
  • Existing network within relevant industries
