We are working with a specialist calibration, inspection and repair business that is looking to appoint a Field Calibration Technician in Wisconsin.
This position would suit a practical, accurate and mechanically minded technician with previous calibration experience. The role involves field-based calibration work, basic repair of precision test equipment and regular travel across the United States.
The Role
The successful candidate will perform calibration work across a range of precision test equipment, with a focus on mechanical dimensional measuring instruments. This is a customer-facing role requiring strong attention to detail, good communication skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out calibration work on precision test equipment
- Perform basic repair work where required
- Work with mechanical and dimensional measuring instruments
- Travel to customer sites across the United States
- Maintain accurate standards and strong customer service
- Manage workload across multiple customer requirements
Skills & Experience Required
Experience in any of the following areas would be highly relevant:
- Pressure calibration
- Torque calibration
- Thermodynamics
- Weight and force calibration
- Dimensional measurement
- ULMs
- Micrometers
- Calipers
- Gage blocks
- Distance and height gages
- Optical comparators
- CMMs
- Electrical calibration
- Electronic calibration
Additional Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of calibration experience
- Good level of accuracy
- Mechanically astute approach
- Ability to multitask and manage time well
- Familiarity with ISO 17025 and gauge management software would be beneficial
- Willingness to travel 25–40% across the United States
