We are recruiting for a CNC Programmer to join a leading manufacturer serving the industrial and aerospace & defense sectors. This position will play a key role in developing and optimising CNC programs across a variety of precision machining operations, supporting production efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Working closely with Manufacturing Engineering and shop floor teams, you’ll be responsible for programming, process optimisation, tooling improvements, and supporting high-performance machining operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, and optimise CNC programs for turning, milling, and multi-axis machining operations
- Troubleshoot machining and production issues alongside engineering and operations teams
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements
- Create and maintain CNC programs, tool lists, setup sheets, and routing documentation
- Support tooling and fixture development to improve efficiency and repeatability
- Work with tooling suppliers to improve tool life and machining performance
- Conduct time studies and support production planning activities
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cycle times, quality, and throughput
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of CNC programming experience
- Strong knowledge of G-code programming
- Experience with turning, milling, and/or multi-axis machining environments
- CAD experience required
- CAM experience preferred
- Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings
- Knowledge of tooling, fixturing, and machining best practices
- Strong mathematical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- U.S. Citizenship required
