We are recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer to join a specialist manufacturer of high-precision CNC grinding machines. This role will focus on improving manufacturability, supporting machine builds, troubleshooting production challenges, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and manufacturing operations.
Working closely with design, assembly, production, and service teams, you’ll play a key role in delivering complex machine tool projects from concept through commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimise manufacturing processes for CNC machine components and assemblies
- Collaborate with design engineers to improve manufacturability and assembly efficiency
- Support production, assembly, prototype builds, and new product introduction activities
- Troubleshoot manufacturing, machining, and assembly issues
- Design and implement fixtures, jigs, and tooling solutions
- Create and maintain work instructions, SOPs, and manufacturing documentation
- Develop machine operating manuals and maintenance procedures
- Provide technical support during machine assembly, commissioning, and service activities
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and cost reduction
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, supply chain, and service teams
Requirements
- Manufacturing Engineering experience within machine building, CNC machining, precision manufacturing, or complex assembly environments
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, assemblies, and BOMs
- SolidWorks 3D CAD experience
- Familiarity with AutoCAD 2D
- Knowledge of GD&T and manufacturing best practices
- Experience supporting production and assembly operations
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
- Understanding of CNC machining processes and design for manufacturability principles
- Strong communication and project management skills
Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- Experience within machine tool or CNC equipment manufacturing
- Multi-axis machining knowledge
