A leading advanced manufacturing organisation focused on metal additive manufacturing is seeking an experienced Additive Manufacturing Engineer (LPBF Metals) to support cutting-edge aerospace, defence, and commercial production programmes.

This role sits at the intersection of engineering, customer collaboration, and advanced manufacturing execution. You’ll work directly with customers and internal teams to develop, optimise, and deliver high-performance metal components using Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical interface between customers and engineering teams on LPBF projects
  • Evaluate part designs for manufacturability, performance, and cost optimisation
  • Provide Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) guidance and engineering feedback
  • Support quoting, cycle time estimation, and build strategy development
  • Prepare and review build files, process parameters, and post-processing workflows
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure successful delivery
  • Support customer trials, technical reviews, and on-site project execution
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and internal knowledge sharing

What You Bring

  • Strong hands-on experience in LPBF metal additive manufacturing
  • Background in aerospace, defence, or high-performance engineering environments
  • Solid understanding of DfAM principles, GD&T, and engineering drawings
  • CAD proficiency (SolidWorks, CATIA, NX or equivalent)
  • Experience with production planning, build prep, and post-processing workflows
  • Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent industry experience (7+ years preferred)
  • Familiarity with ERP/CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, ProShop, Syteline)
  • Eligibility for U.S. person status (ITAR compliance required)
