Area Sales Manager
Hours: Core Business Hours
Travel: Up to 80%

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for driving sales of advanced manufacturing equipment and solutions to meet customer requirements. The role reports to the Regional Sales Director and focuses on growing new business, maintaining strong client relationships, and supporting existing accounts.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
  • Promote company products and provide technical sales support.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to assess customer equipment needs.
  • Develop, present, and respond to proposals for customer-specific requirements.
  • Recommend process improvements or equipment enhancements to clients.
  • Conduct proactive site visits to address engineering or service challenges, including strategic sales opportunity reviews (minimum 25 visits per week).
  • Resolve complex technical issues at customer sites.
  • Submit weekly territory planning and management reports; ensure timely expense reporting.
  • Participate in semiannual visits to international manufacturing partners.
  • Develop strategic and tactical plans to achieve annual sales targets.
  • Partner with technical staff to coordinate product demonstrations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical field.
  • 3–5 years of B2B sales or business development experience.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent: Travel, driving, desk work, phone/computer use, standing and walking.
  • Periodic: Repetitive movements of hands, arms, legs, and torso.
  • Occasional: Bending, squatting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting objects.
