We are working with a specialist calibration, inspection and repair business that is looking to appoint a Field Calibration Technician in Wisconsin.

This position would suit a practical, accurate and mechanically minded technician with previous calibration experience. The role involves field-based calibration work, basic repair of precision test equipment and regular travel across the United States.

The Role

The successful candidate will perform calibration work across a range of precision test equipment, with a focus on mechanical dimensional measuring instruments. This is a customer-facing role requiring strong attention to detail, good communication skills and the ability to manage time effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out calibration work on precision test equipment
  • Perform basic repair work where required
  • Work with mechanical and dimensional measuring instruments
  • Travel to customer sites across the United States
  • Maintain accurate standards and strong customer service
  • Manage workload across multiple customer requirements

Experience in any of the following areas would be highly relevant:

  • Pressure calibration
  • Torque calibration
  • Thermodynamics
  • Weight and force calibration
  • Dimensional measurement
  • ULMs
  • Micrometers
  • Calipers
  • Gage blocks
  • Distance and height gages
  • Optical comparators
  • CMMs
  • Electrical calibration
  • Electronic calibration

Additional Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of calibration experience
  • Good level of accuracy
  • Mechanically astute approach
  • Ability to multitask and manage time well
  • Familiarity with ISO 17025 and gauge management software would be beneficial
  • Willingness to travel 25–40% across the United States
