Field Service Engineer – Injection Molding

We are recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to join a growing technical service team supporting industrial and injection molding equipment across the Chicago and Milwaukee region.
This role combines hands-on engineering, troubleshooting, installation, commissioning, and customer support. It is ideally suited to someone with a strong mechanical or electrical background who enjoys working independently while delivering exceptional service to manufacturing customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and service industrial machinery at customer sites
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system faults
- Provide technical support both remotely and on-site
- Deliver operator training and technical guidance to customers
- Complete detailed service reports and maintenance documentation
- Support preventative maintenance and equipment optimisation activities
- Collaborate with internal engineering and service teams to improve customer support and service delivery
- Build strong customer relationships through professional technical support
Requirements
- Mechanical or electrical engineering background
- Minimum 4 years’ experience within manufacturing, industrial machinery, or related environments
- Injection molding equipment experience preferred
- Knowledge of PLC systems and industrial controls
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
- Excellent communication and customer-facing abilities
- Willingness to travel extensively (80%+)
