Location: Remote
Salary: $100,000 – $130,000

CORE FOCUS OF THE ROLE

 

The Senior Grinding Applications Engineer is responsible for the development of turnkey grinding tooling and processes. This is a remote position for candidates not local to Campbell Grinder or candidates who do not wish to relocate.

 

DAY-TO-DAY OF THE ROLE

  • Sales Support Develop turnkey project cost estimates and time studies. Travel to customers with Sales as needed.
  • Turnkey Projects Develop turnkey process plans and associated documentation. Specify grinding wheels and arbors. Guide the design on part fixturing. Lead the process development through run off. Both at base and the customer’s facility if needed.
  • Collaboration Work closely with Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Applications Engineering teams to ensure all process needs are met. Communicate with vendors and customers efficiently and professionally.
  • Continuous Improvement Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to research and develop the latest grinding technologies.
  • Travel Travel when necessary to customers’ sites or vendor facilities.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS YOU NEED

  • Knowledgeable of current grinding technologies, equipment and processes.
  • Familiar with Solidworks 3D CAD and AutoCAD 2D software.
  • Exceptional technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and reasoning ability
  • Understands engineering concepts and machine systems
  • Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Must be self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects or tasks.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of machine tool applications and processes.

 

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years practical experience in the grinding industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, preferred.
