Looking for your next move permanent move as a Manufacturing Engineer in a Machine Assembly department?
This role the day to day production and processes for CNC machining centers as well as for the processes of assembling CNC lathes, and involves supporting lean initiatives, continuous improvement projects, and standardization to support ISO 9001. Provides technical solutions regarding CNC programming, routing development, assembly process development and improvement, and tooling/fixture design.
DAY-TO-DAY OF THE ROLE
- Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and process capabilities; establishing standards; and support resources to maintain and document processes.
- Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations and participation from operators.
- Analyze, evaluate, promote and oversee implementation of production improvements and cost reduction ideas using lean methodology. Lead process-related projects from inception to full implementation.
- Facilitate continuous improvement throughout the location. Utilize Lean tool expertise (5S, Standard Work, DMAIC, Material Flow, etc.) to drive continuous improvements.
- Coordinate new product release from Product Engineering to Manufacturing – this role can be project support or project lead.
- Coordinate/implement engineering changes among engineering, assembly and quality teams
- Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors
- Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Maintains product and process data base by writing computer programs; entering data.

SKILLS YOU NEED
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering Technology required. Related degree/experience will be considered. Six Sigma Belt training preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in CAD/CAM required (AutoCAD, Solidworks, MasterCam, SmartCam, or equivalent). Knowledge of CNC Machine programming. Strong leadership capabilities, written and verbal communication skills, and working knowledge of manufacturing processes required.
- Three to five years of CNC machine assembly/manufacturing preferred
- Project management skills required
- ERP system knowledge
