We are recruiting for a Manufacturing Manager to join a rapidly growing aerospace and defense manufacturer producing complex precision components through CNC machining and metal additive manufacturing processes.
This is a senior leadership opportunity responsible for overseeing production, quality, and operational performance across a modern manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team while driving throughput, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations across CNC machining, additive manufacturing, and quality departments
- Execute production plans and ensure delivery against operational targets
- Manage labour allocation, machine utilisation, workflow, and production schedules
- Lead production meetings and performance reviews
- Develop and mentor manufacturing leaders and production teams
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on throughput, quality, and efficiency
- Monitor KPIs including utilisation, First Pass Yield (FPY), scrap, and schedule adherence
- Support compliance with aerospace quality standards and operational procedures
- Work closely with planning, engineering, and quality teams to ensure successful programme execution
- Champion a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence
Requirements
- Proven leadership experience within aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing, or precision machining environments
- Experience managing large production teams across multiple departments
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, production planning, and quality systems
- Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing performance reporting
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and lean manufacturing principles
- Strong communication and leadership skills
Preferred
- Aerospace manufacturing experience
- AS9100 environment experience
- CNC machining and/or metal additive manufacturing knowledge
- Experience using ERP and business intelligence platforms
